With
sadness we announce the passing of Rockefeller, who succumbed to
the effects of colic and a twisted colon on April 4, 2005. Rockefeller
was a great stallion, an amazing partner and a wonderful friend.
He will be greatly missed. Thank you to all those individuals who
have sent an outpouring of sympathy and concern.

Bred
in Denmark by Jytte Kolster, Bent purchased Rockefeller as a weanling
and imported him to the United States. Before his untimely death,
he proved to be an exceptional young stallion, who brought together
two of Europe's most sought-after bloodlines, Rubinstein and Donnerhall.
His superior bloodlines contributed to his correct conformation
and outstanding athletic ability.
His excellent disposition made him a joy
to train and translated into a very successful show career in his
short life. With Bent he won his first Regional Championship his
4th
time in the show ring and moved from second level at the beginning
of the 2004 season to Prix St. Georges by the end of the season,
capping the year with the high score in 4th Level at Dresage at
Devon. A powerful mover with three very balanced gaits, Rockefeller
was already showing great aptitude and ability for collected work
and had all the ingredients for a future Grand Prix competitor.
Rockefeller's first foal crop in 2004 was
testimony to his ability to pass his attributes to his offspring.
